Home and aged care costs
The cost of home care and nursing homes can vary depending on the level of care you need, the services you want and the provider you choose.
The Australian Government subsidises some of the cost of aged care but you are expected to contribute if you can. How much you have to pay will depend on your income and any financial assets.
Private providers delivering home care services as well as private aged care homes operate on a fee-for-service model. There are no Government subsidies and you have to pay for all the services provided.
