THE FACILITY Located in Tewantin, our 175 bed residence offers single bed units which Include 65 secure beds for residents living with dementia. At Carramar, we offer a range of support and care services to help make the transition from independent to assisted living easier.  Each residential room has a private ensuite bathroom and garden area plus spacious communal living areas for socialising. Our buildings are air conditioned and centrally heated for the comfort of residents.  This facility is adapted to suit requirements and maintain a continuum of quality care.   FULL TIME PROFESSIONALS  Our recruitment and continuous learning ensures that we maintain an enviable level of care. We manage the health and well-being of our residents through on site visit by treating physicians and allied health professionals as required. Our facilities have a registered nurse on duty 24/7 in addition to extra support from clinical staff affording a more personalised and greater ratio of care to resident.   RESPITE CARE  Short term respite accommodation is available for high and low levels of care to help provide relief for in-home carers who can take a break while we care for their loved ones.   DEMENTIA CARE SPECIALISTS   Our DementiaLiving Model of Care is unique and recognises that there is a life worth living after a diagnosis of dementia. Fresh local produce and seasonal ingredients influence our menu offerings that are different for each day of the week. Meal plans are done in collaboration with our dietitian and feature simple, delicious and nutritious meals that cater for special diets and smooth food and texture modified food options.   ALL CARE RECIPIENTS ARE WELCOME  As a community-owned, not for profit organisation, our commitment is to ensure that all residents have access to quality care and services, regardless of their financial standing. A fee structure and payment options are available to suit individual requirements.   FAMILY AND VOLUNTEERS  Friends and family are encouraged to continue close contact and involvement in the daily affairs of their friends and relatives at Carramar and Kabara. Children and pets are also welcome for visits. Our volunteers are devoted, caring helpers who provide friendship and assist with many social functions, appointments and activities.
