We are a small boutique family run and owned facility and are accredited by the Department of Health and licensed to care for 90 permanent residents.  We also offer a respite program. This wonderful service is provided as we understand caring for someone on a full time basis can be both physically and emotionally demanding. Our respite program enables families and friends who care for a loved one, to take that long awaited holiday or break, confident that the best of care is being provided during their absence. The Alexander is warm and comfortable and is complimented by pleasant gardens and courtyards which create a relaxing outdoor environment. The Alexander has central heating & common areas are air conditioned.  The majority of our suites are single with an ensuite, we also offer couples accommodation in our new state of the art suites.   All suites have a television point, telephone point, emergency buzzer and a ceiling fan.  In addition, our new architect designed suites (opened March 2018) also have smart TV's, telephones and air conditioning. There are four common dining rooms, three common lounge/sitting rooms, two activity rooms and a library. A private dining room is also available for our residents and families use. Residents are offered a home-like environment. They may choose to participate in activities provided, read or relax in our library or retire to their room. The individual needs of each resident is catered for by our caring staff. A lifestyle program under the direction of our Diversional Therapist, has been created to provide residents with a variety of activities in which they can participate if they wish. These include bingo, craft, games, music, entertainers, exercise, movies, outings, gardening, pet therapy and religious services. Our hairdresser visits the facility on a weekly basis.   Friendly, qualified staff are employed to care for our residents, including registered nurses, personal care assistants, professional caterers, housekeeping and laundry staff. Our care staff provide residents with assistance for all daily living tasks including safe administration of medications 24-hours a day. We are committed to providing the best possible care at all times. We provide a four weekly rotating summer & winter menu which is reviewed by a qualified Dietitian to ensure our residents receive appropriate nutrition, hydration & variety. Our network of doctors and other allied health professionals ensure that our residents receive appropriate health care whenever they require it. Families and friends are always welcome and are invited to visit at their convenience. The Alexander has a security system operated by a keypad at each door to ensure the safety of all residents.  Security cameras are also in operation throughout the facility.
