Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) is a program that provides early intervention care for older people. It aims at keeping the clients independent by reversing and/or slowing functional health decline. Its ultimate goal is to help recipients to regain autonomy and to prevent them from relying on long-term care.
STRC is delivered in the form of a tailored, multidisciplinary package of services. These include physiotherapy, social work, nursing support, personal care, and the provision of new technologies that make life easier. STRC can be up to 56 days and can be delivered in the comfort of the client’s home.
