Hall & Prior Windsor Park Aged Care Home

Hall & Prior Windsor Park Aged Care Home

Overview

Home is a feeling

Windsor Park is made up of three houses, all of which provide specialised care programs for residents with complex care needs. Houses have access to large activity areas, quiet rooms, lounge rooms and extensive shaded gardens with outdoor barbecue areas.

Our team at Windsor Park Aged Care Home have won three Commonwealth Better Practice Awards from the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency. This prestigious national award recognises outstanding innovations in care.

We have large spacious garden areas around the facility for residents to access. All gardens have wheelchair accessibility. Our gardens have well-placed seating areas enabling residents to relax and take in the fresh air, have a yarn or have a wander around. We also have access to gardens for residents who may be interested in participating in gardening activities.

The 2018 Better Practice Award celebrated the Back to Country Program, which assists Aboriginal residents to return to their regional and desert communities. Working with the home’s Aboriginal Health Co-ordinator, The 2016 Better Practice Award acknowledged the home’s Culturally Valid Care Program for Aboriginal people. Developed over the course of a decade and utilising evidence-based practice and strong links to key community and research groups, the initiative is a crucial part of improving the well-being of Aboriginal residents.

The 2013 Better Practice Award acknowledged our Workplace Harmonisation program, which successfully transformed the culture of the home and reduced conflict and tension between staff. Through engaging key training organisations to provide staff and managers with the skills to manage issues collaboratively, our team were able to increase staff retention and create a happier environment within the home.

At Windsor Park, we feel privileged to be entrusted with providing whole-of-person health and care for older people living with a wide range of complex health issues. We strive daily to provide care that enables our residents to live their life to the maximum extent feasible, to exercise choice and decision-making, and to maximise quality of life and wellbeing.

If you would like to find out more about life at Windsor Park, we would love to show you around and talk about your specific requirements.
