The Australian Government funds Diversicare's state-wide Multicultural Advisory Service (MAS) under the Commonwealth Home Support Program. The aim of the Multicultural Advisory Service (MAS) is to strengthen and broaden the capacity of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) providers to deliver quality services that are responsive to the client from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. MAS offers free cross-cultural workshops, diversity forums, and cultural briefings to aged care providers. Our training is about building the skills and giving staff the practical and positive tools to work effectively with CALD consumers.
MAS delivers information and education sessions to empower CALD communities to live independently as long as they possibly can.
MAS develops appropriate resources that effectively support cultural awareness, culturally appropriate care delivery, and culturally sensitive information to service users.
MAS develops and promotes collaborative partnerships within the CHSP and across the broader aged care service system.
MAS works in partnership with CHSP/aged care providers and CALD communities to identify and address barriers and gaps in current service provision for CALD clients and carers.
