Carinya’, an Aboriginal word meaning “Happy, peaceful home.” Carinya is a 26-bed Aged Residential Mental Health Unit that is temporarily located at The Village Glen Campus at Capel Sound. Carinya provides care to Residents that are 65 years or older, or under 65 years with a diagnosed neurocognitive illness as well as Aged NDIS residents. Carinya is a specialty unit that supports residents with severe chronic mental health illness and/or behaviour and psychological symptoms of dementia.
Carinya is a transitional unit and Residents remain at Carinya until their care needs can be met in a mainstream facility.
